Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM)
Wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) is an essential cutting method, relied on for its precision and ability to cut hard metals and other difficult-to-machine materials. At Hyseco, Inc., we offer 3-axis wire EDM services, with quality backed up by over 40 years of manufacturing experience. From design assistance and material selection all the way through prototyping and production, our seasoned staff ensure that our customers’ projects are completed to the highest levels of quality at every step.
Our machine shop showcases an abundance of flexibility, with full CNC control capabilities available for our wire EDM services. In addition to design assistance, we offer CAM programming services and reverse engineering when required. We work with a broad variety of materials to complete nearly any application to our customer’s exact specifications. These include alloy steels, aluminum, beryllium, brass, carbide, carbon steel, cobalt, copper, iron, and magnesium. We also regularly work with nickel, stainless steel, tungsten, tin, and titanium. Our work is available in a broad array of dimensions, including a work envelope with dimensions up to 39.4” x 31.5” and material thicknesses up to 15”. We specialize in low to medium volume runs for wire EDM, with lead times quoted on a job-by-job basis and emergency and rush services available by customer request.
We offer an extensive testing and quality control program at Hyseco. This includes a number of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to ensure that precision accuracy has been achieved. Our work regularly meets or exceeds the highest standards of industry. Some of these include AS, ASME, ANSI, AWS, CE, CSA, DOT, FAA, FDA, ISO, Mil-Spec, QS, and NADCAP, just to name a few.
