Custom Power Units

Since our inception in 1972, customers in a broad variety of industries have relied on Hyseco, Inc. as their one-stop hydraulic service company. Our reputation for the best quality products and precision custom fabrication is well-known throughout the industry and reflected in the project illustrated here. A customer in the offshore drilling field needed custom water- and air-cooled hydrogen power units (HPUs) built to their precise specifications. Taking note of our comprehensive experience in custom power unit design and fabrication, they contacted us. Using our high-quality turnkey fabrication processes, we completed this project within our customer’s time constraints and to the highest industry standards.

Projects like these require the best-qualified personnel, and we employed our certified welders, hydraulic technicians, and a certified electrician to work with all the wiring. We completed this project using materials that included A36 plate and stainless steel, as well as explosion-proof electric motors, starter boxes, and sensors. A full array of our machining capabilities was employed, including turning and milling. The completed water- and air-cooled power units measured 92” x 148” x 102”, and included an electrical power unit with twin 125 HP motors, two 65 GPM pressure compensated 3000 PSI pumps, a Hot Start heater for cold climates, a 1000 gallon S/S tank, and a skid mount. In order to complete this project on time, we outsourced the three-part epoxy painting. When the power units were completed in their entirety, we employed our full inspection and quality program, which included ABS and CDS certification.

Our customer was pleased with our results, with a total of two water-cooled and two air-cooled units completed. After receiving their initial order of units, they contracted us to build four more.
